Why do we think this award is important?
In our pleasant rural corner of Worcestershire, we feel the need to broaden our pupils’ outlook and education. We need to break down barriers, misunderstandings and racial/cultural stereotypes. We want to learn about other countries and people and develop our pupils as international citizens.
We are delighted to have been reaccredited the International Award once again, as it is a badge of honour for schools that do outstanding work in international education, such as through links with partner schools overseas and work done across the curriculum. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the British Council’s work with schools, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need to live and work as global citizens.
On presenting the Award, John Rolfe, from the British Council, said:
“The school’s fantastic international work has rightfully earned this prestigious award.”
