Weather Updates

In extreme winter circumstances of snow, floods, power-cuts etc. it may prove necessary to close the school. Notification of school closure will appear here.

The SNOWLINE

If this occurs when no one is in the school, staff will start off the telephone SNOWLINE for each tutor group to inform you of the closure.

Please check that your child has been given at least one telephone number that you should ring. You are asked to phone and pass on the message, if and when you receive a closure message from the previous person in the chain. Please keep this information to hand. (Any queries re the snow chain - please ask your child's form tutor, via the planner.)

Text messaging

This occurs when the school office is manned, they will use the "Text messaging" service to text a message to all parents. This text messaging service will text the mobile phone numbers that have been supplied to the school as a contact . Please ensure that the number(s) you have supplied are up to date.

The decision to close is rare and is taken in consultation with the LEA, the bus companies and the school governors. Inconvenience can result, but the Health & Safety of all members of our school community has to be our first priority.
