Pupil Reports - Key to Assessments

You may find the following information useful in judging your child’s progress.

Attainment

Attainment is recorded as a National Curriculum Level. Each level covers a wide range of skills, knowledge and understanding and therefore we have sub divided the levels into a, b and c.
a ... Has met most of the criteria for that level.
b ... Has met many of the criteria for that level.
c ... Has met some of the criteria for that level.

Achievement, Effort and Homework

5 = Excellent - Fully meeting and/or exceeding expectations.
4 = Good - Always meets expectations.
3 = Satisfactory/Average - Generally meeting expectations.
2 = Unsatisfactory - Often fails to meet expectations.
1 = Cause for concern - Rarely, if ever, meets expectations.

Behaviour

5 = Excellent at all times.
4 = Good - Generally well behaved.
3 = Satisfactory - Meets expectations most of the time.
2 = Unsatisfactory behaviour at times which affects work levels.
1 = Causes considerable disruption.

Average national standards for Year 9 at Key Stage 3 is 5a/6c, except for modern foreign languages which is lower.
