Yr8 Rugby - Worcestershire State School Champions

On Monday (27th March), Bredon Hill Academy became year 8 Rugby Worcestershire State School Champions.

On the way to the final, Bredon Hill beat Blessed Edwards 40-5, Hanley Castle 60-0 and Nunnery Wood 75-5 and set up a final against Chantry High School.

It was a good day for some free flowing rugby. Bredon Hill seemed nervous and in the first 10 minutes made many basic errors. As soon as the nerves drifted away, they began to play in their usual fast paced, attacking style, which the opposition found hard to cope with. The score at half time was 45-0 to Bredon Hill. In the second half, Bredon Hill continued to attack in style and more tries came. At full time Bredon Hill had won 85-0.

It has been a great year for Bredon Hill rugby. They reached the quarter final of the School Sports Magazine National cup losing to the finalists Winchester House School. They also got to the final of the Sibford School 7's competition losing to a very strong Cheltenham College. They will now represent the school in the regional 7's final, which is being held at Franklin Gardens, the home of Northampton Saints on the 27th of April.
